Scaphoid nonunion: a minimally invasive technique that has proven itself

Dr Chihab Taleb, together with Dr Thomas Zappaterra, has just published a new scientific study on the treatment of scaphoid nonunion — a wrist fracture that never healed — using bone grafting performed entirely under arthroscopy.

The publication confirms the reliability of this minimally invasive technique: union was achieved in the large majority of cases, including for long-standing fractures that had failed to heal for several years — up to 6 years in this study.

An approach that limits scarring, preserves the tissue around the bone, and allows for a faster recovery than conventional open surgery. To learn more about this condition, see our dedicated page on scaphoid nonunion (available in French).
